To the Saints of Green Valley Church,
“Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and He will give you everything you need” (Matthew 6:33). These are the words of Jesus and the greatest invitation to life we will ever receive.
The rule of The Kingdom is to ask! “You do not have what you want because you do not ask” (James 4:2). “If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him” (Matthew 7:11).
Would you join with me in a forty-day prayer challenge to deepen our love for God (The FIRST and greatest commandment) and develop our faith in Jesus by learning more to ask the Lord for what we need?
Lent is a tradition of the Church to devote forty-days leading up to Easter to seeking the Lord, this year it begins on Wednesday, the 18th of February. It was established to follow the example of Jesus, the Master Teacher, and His fasting and praying in the wilderness for forty-days prior to His public ministry on the earth.
“DRAW the CIRCLE” – The 40 Day Prayer Challenge
Pastor Mark Batterson, from the National Community Church in Washington, D. C., has written a wonderful prayer devotional. I strongly recommend each one of us use this book as a tool of encouragement and improving our asking. What wonderful things will happen when we align ourselves with God and each other in prayer!
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Ask God for what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace…” (Phil. 4:6). Pray more, and worry less!
I ask God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to give you much grace and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit!
Sincerely, Dennis, a grateful pastor!
P.S. Wednesday mornings at 6am is prayer in the sanctuary. You are invited to join with us whenever you are able!
